Learning through Engineering, Art and Design
("LEAD" for short) has
devoted to develop Hong Kong teenagers' creativity education. The association
introduced Scratch, which was free education software developed by
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), into Hong Kong. It lets students create an interactive story,
a game and animation easily, also trains the students' logical mind from program
computer software.
Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT) planned to hold a Scratch meeting on 22th May
2010 all over the world synchronously, so participants can share their creation
attainment and experience to each other. The Hong Kong Federation of Youth
Groups responded with the function and invited the academic circle to join the event
and the Education Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region had invited to be supporting organization. Also, the
activity has been one of the Education Bureau Teacher training activities. The
theme of Scratch Day Hong Kong 2010 is "Partnership in Learning with Scratch" which held on 22th May 2010 (Sat) in Cyber port, including Scratch Seminar cum
Panel Discussion on Partnership in Learning, Scratch Workshops and Scratch
Project Exhibition.
MIDbot had been
invited to show the Scratch projects because of the positive feedback from a
MIDbot event, "Easy Programming for Robot". Since the size of MIDbot is
not suitable to the movement on the classroom table, we develop a new robot for
educational use called MIDbot Mini. Regarding to the primary appearing of MIDbot
